Floral Embroidery Patch Making

13 March 2025

Led by Mel from Stich School, this workshop was part of Women’s History Month celebrations in East London. Drawing inspiration from the Alice Billing Community Cloth, participants explored the beauty of colour, texture, and creativity through embroidery, crafting their own unique floral patches. These patches were then used to embellish garments or transformed into framed wall art.

Throughout the session, attendees discovered the calming benefits of embroidery, embracing its potential for relaxation, mindfulness, and creative expression.

Part of an engagement programme run by Grow Studios at Alice Billing House in Stratford, supported by the Creative Land Trust and Heritage Lottery Fund.
