13 March 6 pm - 8 pm
We invite you to help us celebrate the ‘big reveal’ of the Community Supper Cloth and Alice Billing House’s first year in operation. We would love to meet you in person.
The Supper Cloth
In partnership with Stitch School, this piece of embroidery art, “The Supper Cloth”, was co-created by the community of Newham in the autumn of 2024. Local community groups were invited to Alice Billing House to learn new embroidery techniques and discover the building's history while adding to this collaboratively stitched cloth.
The cloth was also taken to Stratford Library, The Stratford Centre, Abbey Gardens and the London College of Fashion, with over 260 community members contributing to this legacy piece of embroidered art.
Drop-in Workshop
Floral Patch Making - inspired by the Alice Billing Community Cloth we will explore colour, texture, and imagination through embroidery and create your own personal narrative. Stitch a floral patch to embellish a garment, frame it as a wall piece or gift to a friend. Stitch together and discover the benefits of embroidery as relaxation, mindfulness and creativity.
