FREE: AFTER THE FIREFIGHTERS - CREATIVE ALICE BILLING HOUSE

The After the Firefighters - a friendly informative tour describing the unique history of Alice Billing House, and the plans for its future.

Tucked away behind the Town Hall on the busy Broadway in Stratford is Alice Billing House, set in a quiet courtyard. After standing empty for decades, it is slowly coming back to life!

Purcell Architects will lead an informative and interactive session; sharing the history of the West Ham Fire Brigade who built the unique Alice Billing House & of the Civic Quarter of Newham that surrounds it. We’ll share wonderful archive photos that show how the building was used, as well as the plans for the creative revitalisation of this important local building. We’d love to see you there to hear your thoughts & local stories!

Principal project partners: National Lottery Heritage Fund, Creative Land Trust, Purcell Architects, Grow Studios.
